FALL BREAKS & FALL INJURY AVOIDANCE ( 3 to 4 hours )
Here we cover methods in which to fall while preventing injury to yourself. Protecting the tail bone
elbows, face and knees should you be knocked to the ground. Strength training to support your
weight should you fall and how to best return to a standing position during a confrontation that
has turned violent.
STANCES AND STAND-UP POSITIONAL AWARENESS ( 3 to 4 hours )
Here we cover foot/hand placement and body orientation to the threat to best provide a superior
advantage during conflict and the moments leading up to possible physical harm. This includes
awareness of your body position in relation to the treat and possible lines of attack the s/he may
take when striking or grabbing you. Additionally, we look at weapons that you may be carrying and the possibility that you may offer them up to your attacker if you are not positioned correctly.
ELBOWS, PUNCHES & UPPER-BODY COMBATIVES ( 3 to 4 hours )
Here we cover close qtr combat and continuous combat using the striking surfaces that you possess within your upper body including your head. We look at the fighting distances and the opportunities that present themselves with regard to upper body combatives.
KICKS, KNEES, AND LOWER-BODY COMBATIVES ( 3 to 4 hours )
Here we cover close qtr combat and continuous combat using the striking surfaces that you possess within your lower body including your knees, heels and more. We look at the fighting distances and the opportunities that present themselves with regard to lower body combatives.
SWEEPS THROWS & TAKEDOWNS ( 3 to 4 hours )
Here we cover close qtr combat and continuous combat using the the use of leverage and redirecting momentum and force. We work on throws and takedowns often followed by or preceded by upper and lower body combatives. We look at single and double leg sweeps and takedowns and finishing techniques depending on the applications of the use of this force be it professional or civilian self-defense.
JOINT LOCKS, PAIN COMPLIANCE & RESTRAINT TECHNIQUES ( 3 to 4 hours )
Here we cover the techniques often employed by law enforcement and professional security when apprehending and detaining individuals. These techniques are extremely difficult in the absence of combatives yet often times in the professional arena this is required. Additionally, TASER has been a go-to tool for professionals, for example, when using less-than-lethal force and in substitution of come-alongs and hands-on restraint techniques. That said, training is required as supplemental fail-safes should tools such as TASER or OC Pepper be unavailable. We also cover arm bars, joint and limb locks.
CHOKES, VITAL POINTS, Knife-Defense, Gun Defense, Weapons Defense ( 6 to 10 hours )
Here we cover chokes and Negative 5 locks that often times render the attacker either unconscious or worse. We look at defense against edge weapons, guns and other weapons that may present themselves. We also briefly look at weapons retention a bit and proper grip and re-purposing of weapons stripped from attackers. We look at the pistol closely and methods to make it malfunction in the hands of the attacker buying us time for combatives or other appropriate techniques in a continuous combat or ret-zev.
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER, DRILLS, CONTINUOUS COMBAT, FORCE CONTINUUM (ongoing training)
Here we put it together. We combine all modules and create scenarios in which students can practice continuous combat techniques against various and often multiple attackers. We strip weapons and turn them on our attackers if necessary. We work with different partners of all conceivable body types and genders and we further develop the will-to-win and continuous combat mindset. Student who poses all modules training or "level 8" may then focus on continuous improvement and a deeper understanding of the combatives and options to be employed to achieve a successful outcome.
